HANFA is a charity (registration number 1014855) for children and young people with additional needs, established nearly 40 years ago, to give care and support to their families.
Initially it was set up to help children living in Alsager but the scheme has since been extended to surrounding districts and became a registered charity in 1982.
It provides a Youth Club for 10+ year olds, which runs every two weeks and takes place in Alsager, and a Summer Scheme for 8+ year olds which runs for 16 days in the summer holidays and takes place in Sandbach, both with children attending from around the local area.
Hanfa`s core mission has 4 inter-related aims:
• Offer quality care for children and young people with wide ranging additional needs in line with legal requirements, promoting educational, social and leisure activities
• Provide respite for carers, enabling parents to spend quality time with other family members
• Collaborate and network with local community organisations, providing opportunities for young people to work in a voluntary capacity alongside paid carers, and to befriend youngsters with additional needs
• Finance these aims by the securing of grants and other means of fund raising, as HANFA has no regular income
The Trustees work hard to ensure that adequate funds are available so that they can continue to provide a high standard of care together with stimulating activities in a safe and pleasurable environment.
